During my 5 years on the Board of Supervisors, I have focused on the following issues:

Increasing Fire Safety & Resilience

...advocating for the new Regional Fire Dispatch and promoting shared fire safety through service on the Fire Safe Council Board.

Enhancing Parks, Trails & Libraries

... sponsoring the countywide Recreation Master Plan and increasing library funding and regional library planning.

Tackling Homelessness

...clearing encampments humanely by offering new transitional housing and permanent supportive housing projects like the Hedges House of Hope in Isla Vista and the planned Super 8 motel conversion.

Supporting Mental Health Initiatives

... such as Laura’s Law, Co-Response, the new South County Sobering Center, and new beds at the Champion Center in Lompoc.

Internet for All

... spearheading the County-wide Broadband Strategic Plan that will set us up to apply for significant new state and federal funds to develop infrastructure and deliver affordable services to all.

Being highly responsive to residents

… answering calls and emails within 24 hours and working hard to help them get the services they need and make county government more responsive to their questions and concerns.
