“I would like to thank you for the work you’ve done to ensure the continued work our Santa Ynez Senior Center in Buellton.

Our Senior Center has always relied on the space rented by the County to provide service to a large group of Buellton residents. Unfortunately their lease has been renewed for only 2-5 years at a time due to possible expansion by Fire Station 30. This has made renovations and grants difficult to come by. Who wants to invest in a property that could be torn down at any time.

This problem was brought to your attention and you were able to provide a secure location for our seniors. You were able to provide assurances that as long as the Santa Ynez Senior Center was in operation that they had a building they could call home.

This location provides a place to meet, take classes, get rides to medical appointments and dine as well as preparing Meals on Wheels for senior residents throughout the Santa Ynez Valley.

As Mayor of Buellton I truly thank you for helping us keep this valuable service not only in our city of Buellton but the entire Valley.”
